Welcome to Seeds of Kindness
"Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day."

A small group of local residents is working together to encourage and promote random acts of kindness throughout Calaveras County. In 1995, the Angels Camp City Council passed a proclamation designating Angels Camp as a Kindness Zone. On January 12, 2010 the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors approved the resolution for a county-wide Kindness Zone proclamation effective February 15th, 2010. To learn more about random acts of kindness activities visit the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation website at www.actsofkindness.org.
We invite everyone to join us in celebrating Kindness Week in Calaveras County February 15 -21, 2010.
“The Seeds of Kindness, Create Ripples 2010” strives to:
- bridge and unite the diversity in our world through kind acts;
- help people value self and others through the expression of kind acts;
- foster an environment of kindness which encourages individuals and organizations to work together for a better world; and
- support any individual or organization who shares the Seeds of Kindness create ripples projects mission.
We need your support in order to realize our goal to purchase “Kindness Week” support materials and 23,000 “Pass It On” kindness ribbons. This year the Seeds of Kindness Project will encourage and work with Calaveras County schools, organizations and businesses to create an increased awareness for being kind. Light blue ribbons will be distributed county-wide. When a ribbon-bearer sees an act of kindness being done, he or she will sign the ribbon and pass it on. The symbolic ribbons will encourage acts of kindness throughout the county.
Our 2010 project fund raising goal is $6,700. A $100 donation will pay for 357 ribbons/messages. Kindness donations will be used to purchase at least three miles of light blue ribbon, more than 23,000 “Pass It On” ribbons, 36 official yellow diamond-shaped Kindness Zone signs, 20,000 kindness ribbon instruction cards, the creation and maintenance of theseedsofkindness.com and other materials to help encourage ripples of kindness.
